OAMC

Once a Month Cooking. Have you ever tried it? Did you like it? Do you have any tips for me to help it go faster/smoother?

For those that don't know, once a month cooking is just that: cooking once (all in one day) for the rest of the month. Then you have 30 days ahead of you that are fantastic. No trying to think of what to make for dinner, no actual preparing of the meal, no messy clean up. All you have to do is put your pre-made meal in the oven or crock pot. Sounds good to me, so I am going to try it next week. I purchased all three of the books off this website and I am going to give it a shot. The recipes look fairly simple, and the book outlines exactly how to do it. I will give all the details when I am done (cost, time, and quality).

So, what do you think?

Did you know there are business's out there that allow you to go to their store, make all the dinners per their menu.
It's greatness! I bit more expensive for the convienance. But still greatness!

Hey Lid! Those places ARE great! But here in NM at the place I went to it was $96.00 for only 6 meals...I think I can do it way cheaper! But you are right--it is much more convenient because I don't have to set up, prepare, or clean up. We'll see which I like better after my test run of doing it myself.

I want to do it with you. Are you doing it on a Saturday? I thought your mom wanted to do it too. Let me know.

I am very interested as well- I will be excited to see how it works out for you guys. I really dont enjoy coming up with ideas for dinner each night and I think just about everyone could use a quick meal idea- so this is awesome.

We had an enrichment on the book "Dinner is Ready" and I got all excited about doing it, bought the book, but never got around to doing it. It sounds great, but I'm not looking forward to taking like 6 or 7 hours preparing everything. I know it will be worth it (most likely), but just gearing up for the whole day of cooking...when I don't even LIKE cooking! :) Let us know how it goes. I think I might attempt this in a couple of months...

I never really thought about doing that, but now I can see how it will benefit my lazy afterwork lifestyle!
